Excellent location in a quiet building on Flinders lane, stay close to Crown Casino and the Exhibition Centre within Free tram zone, Wifi, Gym + Sauna
Stay in this central 1 bedroom apartment perched above the corner of Flinders Lane and Downie St, you're in walking distance to Crown Casino, the Exhibition Centre, Southbank Boulevard and Southern Cross Station.
This is a corner apartment with heaps of windows, natural light and ventilation. Up on the top floor and being on a relatively quiet lane you don't hear much noise in the apartment itself. Being in the city you have to expect a little noise but this apartment is overall very quiet. Wooden floorboards throughout and a large flat screen TV with sofabed that converts to sleep an extra person and another single ottoman that can also fold out too. The kitchen, dining and living are all open plan with the bedroom separated by a door for added privacy. A bathroom with shower, organic toiletries and ethical toilet paper are included as well as hair dryer under the sink. The laundry is separate, by the entrance in it's own cupboard where there is a washer-dryer combo machine and laundry sink. The vacuum cleaner is also stored in here too and hops for spills or longer term stays.
HEATING AND COOLING
Wall panel heaters are located in both the bedroom and living room for Melbourne's harsh winter. The apartment stays fairly moderate in temperature throughout the year and the afternoon sun is perfect for warming the apartment up in winter. For summer, keep the blinds down and run the cooler in the afternoon to avoid the afternoon sun heating it up too much. There are fans in the apartment to help with air circulation too.
A large king sized bed that can be divided into two long singles sits int he middle of the room with side tables and lamps on either side and a large wardrobe to hang your clothes with hangers, iron and ironing board and additional blankets for the sofa bed. Power points either side of the bed means you'll have somewhere to charge your phone at night too.
Simple with tiles, strong water pressure in the shower and a large mirror over marble countertop and ceramic sink. Cupboards under the sink are home to spare toiletries and the all important hair-dryer!
Fully equipped with everything you need and quality pans to cook a meal at home. Dishwasher, microwave and large fridge/freezer as well as all the cups, bowls, plates you'd expect to find in a home you can live in for a while.
Includes washer-dryer, vacuum and spare toilet paper as well as laundry sink. Organic, environmentally friendly washing machine liquid is included.
LIVING AND DINING
The living room has a sofabed that converts to sleep an extra person and wall mounted Digital TV to keep up to date on news, watch free-to-air shows and sporting matches. The dining table is big enough to get some work done and seats two with an additional person able to use the study chair.
In the heart of the CBD you have everything at your fingertips with 24/7 availability. A 7/11 is a block away so you can get any basics at any time like milk, bread or ice-cream and cafes are all around the apartment within 50m including The Grain Store, Cherry and Twigs and the famous Hardware Societe. For dining, Delhi Streets has some killer good indian food and The kebab shop with a queue at all hours of the day (famous in the area) is on the corner of Flinders St and Downie St. Fine dining is just up Flinders Lane where you'll fine Vue Du Monde and keep going along Flinders Lane and you'll reach Chin Chin, Cumulus and Melbourne's other famous restaurants.
Getting around is easy as you're located in the Free Tram Zone with trams on Flinders St taking you to Docklands and Out towards Richmond or on Collins St to Fitzroy, St Kilda, Brunswick or Port Melbourne. For everywhere else there are trains, it's a 5 minute walk to Southern Cross Station if you hustle or a 10-15 min walk to Flinders St Station. Proximity to Southern Cross means you can get to the airport easily on the Skybus which is around $20 each way to and from the airport and UberX rides coming in around $40-45 as compared to a Taxi at $50-60.
